*Hi my sherries!!  I want to show you one of my last D.I.Y. In this case, a Deco D.I.Y. that I mentioned in this post (HERE).

As I told you, I restyled my bedroom and when I collocated my new furniture, later a question arose, what do we do with the old furniture? In my case, my previous wardrobe was the typical canvas one,  already in the room when I moved into this house. But after two and a half years living in England it was too small and we decided to buy new ones, bigger and more suitable for the space. With the old one I made (with my bf's help) a coffee table for the living room. Let's start with the D.I.Y.!! 

Buenas mis sherries!! Hoy Viernes retomamos la sección de D.I.Y. En esta ocasión es un D.I.Y. de decoración que os comenté en este post (AQUÍ).

Como os decía, he redecorado la habitación y cuando ponemos muebles nuevos, surge siempre el dilema de qué hacemos ahora con los viejos muebles. En mi caso mi armario era el típico armario de canvas, que ya estaba en la habitación cuando llegue a esta casa. Pero que después de dos años y medio viviendo en Inglaterra se quedó pequeño asi que compré uno nuevo más grande y que se ajusta mejor a las medidas del dormitorio. Con el viejo he hecho (con ayuda de mi novio) una mesita para la sala de estar. Empezamos con el D.I.Y.!! 

You will need / Necesitamos:

1. Handsaw/ Sierra de mano.
2. Tacks/ Puntillas.
3. Pencil / Lapiz.
4. Tape measure/ Metro.
5. Hammer/ Martillo.

*Remove the canvas cover and the metal cross from the back.

Primero quita la funda de canvas y la cruz que rigidizaba la parte de atrás.

*I've just marked 50 cms from the top of the wardrobe to the middle in one of the wood pieces. Repeat this process with the other 3 pieces.

He marcado 50 cms desde la parte alta del armario hacia abajo en uno de los cuatro listones de madera. Repetir el proceso en los 3 restantes.

*Cut the wooden pieces where the mark is with a handsaw .

Con ayuda de la sierra corta cada uno de los cuatro listones por la marca señalada previamente.

*The coffee table is just half way but the pieces are too separated from each other.

Así queda la mesa (a mitad del proceso) pero los tablones estan muy separados.

*We took advantage of the spare pieces from the bottom of the wardrobe and took them out with a hammer. If it is possible, don't get rid of the tacks, reuse them.

Aprovechamos las piezas que estaban en la parte baja del armario. Con un martillo los vamos sacando y aprovechamos todas las puntillas que estén bien.

*We put the pieces in the holes with three tacks on each side. We've used 7 new pieces of wood.

Ponemos los listones en los huecos con tres puntillas en cada extremo. Hemos utilizado 7 listones.

THE FINAL RESULT / EL RESULTADO FINAL:

*And Here it is, the coffee table in our living room!! Perhaps not the most stylish but it was free and we reused the old wardrobe. What do you think?

Y ésta es la mesa en la sala de estar!! Quizás no la más estilosa pero es gratis y hemos aprovechado el viejo armario. ¿Que os parece?
